Channel Protect
The
Channel Protect List
allows you to prevent a channel or number of channels from
being inadvertently put into
Write
or
Update
automation mode.
When a channel is
Protected
, any change to it’s automation mode will have no effect and
the current
Mix
data for that channel will be preserved. Setting
Protection
for a channel
also isolates it from any
Snapshot
that would otherwise change it’s settings. The
automation mode for a
Protected
channel is put into
Read
and locked there until the
Protection
status for a channel is removed.
Protecting a Channel
1. The
Channel Protection List
consists of two columns: the
Channel Name
(as
defined in the
Channel List
) and its
Protection
status.
2. To
Protect
a channel, locate it’s name in the list. Click into the
Protect
column
adjacent to the name.
3. A red checkmark appears to indicate that the channel is
Protected
. In the
Faders
Up
window, the channel’s automation will be replaced with an
“I”
symbol.
4.
Unprotecting
a channel is done in a similar fashion. Clicking a red checkmark will
clear the
Protection
status for that channel.
