With the
D/P MUTE / INPUT CUT
switch selected (LED ON), the lower switches indicate which
speaker combinations are currently employed to achieve the selected output format.
All currently unused
INPUTS
are
CUT
(LED ON) and although the incoming wide format signals
are still present, they are
NOT
included in the current mix.
To
downmix
into the currently selected format, release the
INPUT CUT
switch (LED OFF) for the
required inputs. This allows the selected wide format signals to be included into the
downmix
and distributed across the current output format determined by the
internal downmix
settings.
Downmix Example
For example, to
downmix
a
5.1
mix to
STEREO
, the stereo format must be selected first in
FORMAT / SPK MUTE
mode.
The
D/P MUTE / INPUT CUT
switch should be pressed next and all the lower switches will
illuminate
except
for
L
and
R
[Fig 3.4].
This shows that only the
L
and
R
speakers are currently being used to output the monitor mix
and that presently, only the
L
and
R
elements of the
5.1
mix are being sent to the speakers.
If the lower switches
C
,
LFE/S
,
LS
and
LR
are pressed (LED OFF), then these additional four signals
will be mixed into the
L
and
R
speakers.
Note:
The last used
D/P MUTE / INPUT CUT
condition remains active when leaving this mode.
Any further format changes will apply the relevant defaults.
