Appendix A
Fader Groups
Press
Fader Groups
to access
the
Fader Groups
screen.
The maximum is 10 fader groups,
although they can be merged and
dissolved, with an option to
transfer automation data to slave
faders. These are numbered
Groups 1-10
.
Select from the drop-down list or use keys
1 to 0
along the top of the keyboard.
Press the square
Select
button at the top of a fader (or the
Touch Write
button of
the small fader), then select slaves with their
Select
buttons. Press again to deselect
them.
Note:
For Masters the LED flashes, for Slaves the LED is static.
To swap the master for a different fader within the group, hold the desired master
fader’s
Select
button and press one of the automation buttons adjacent, such as
Read
or
Write
, and it is now master.
You can also set
Groups
up on screen by typing
M*
and
*
where
*
is the group
number, alongside channel names. Bear in mind that the
Select
buttons on the
channels show the group selected in the top right menu button at all times while on
this page!
Tip:
Make sure the Green tick box marked
Slave Restore
on the
Fader Groups
page on the right hand side of the page above the
Clear Groups
button is selected.
With this option selected, slave mutes are restored to their previous mix state (or last
state before a group mute if no mix is in memory) when a group master is unmuted.
Otherwise, when you unmute a group, all its slave faders unmute, regardless of their
former state.
Dissolve
deletes the group and if there is mix data, you will be asked if you want to
merge this into the respective channels.
There is a useful function to
Readjust
the relationship between master and slaves. This is
only for use out of automation when there is no mix in memory. Hold
Select
on the
desired master channel and tap an automation button such as
Read
or
Write
(adjacent), keep holding
Select
and move the master fader to the new position. When
you release
Select
the group status is reinstated.
Group Masters
control
Fader
,
Mute
and
Solo
, but the latter only when the
Solo
To Auto
button in the
Solo Modes
centre section is on, even when the mix is offline.
